Cannabis sativa (marijuana) is a herbaceous species with psychoactive properties. It is an annual plant native to the Himalayas (Asia). Its uses are from the textile and food application in the case of varieties containing no THC (cannabis) to psychoactive substance, spiritual or medicinal in the varieties under the names of marijuana (bud) or hashish (the resin). It is one of the few plants whose cultivation and consumption has been banned or restricted in many countries.
Under the proposal new drug law, talk of decriminalizing the possession, consumption and personal cultivation of marijuana, as stated in the legitimate defense of persons and their rights, and combating drug trafficking.
